If you’re just graduating from college and would like to postpone your all-out job search until later this summer, more power to you.
But how can you balance a well-deserved break with the solid job-search preparation you’ll need to do? Think R and R: rest and research. In other words, do some digging, but keep it low-key. Here are four ways to do it.

I like this article and it was quite helpful! I was re-assured and inspired to improve my job-searching, although I am currently in school for the summer and anticipate graduating in July!!!

Yeah, I need a job for just a year before law school, and I need one now, this is completely unhelpful.

Almost all of these tips assume the graduate has money. This is not the case for me. I feel like this article is written for the student who has daddy pay his way, not the student who holds down a job and then gets laid off.

Yeah I don't like how this article is outdated. I was hoping for some advice for right now. Delaying the job search or getting a job in august or september doesn't seem like a wise idea to me. I've put in tons of applications at the start of the summer and haven't heard anything so I would suggest if you haven't even put in applications I would start right now.

Yeah the economy's bad right now-we all know that. Regardless of this being out of date it's good to get another opinion the facts are still the same. I too would like a break and have been searching for a long time for the right job-maybe not a career, maybe just something for the summer. I think it's important to have a goal and a career in mind-something to work towards. If you get it right away great, if not, take it one step at a time-do the research. The idea of traveling before hand is a good idea-when else will you have the chance to see what's available out there? Good luck to everyone.

Wow, I've heard of this kind of steps towards prep-ing myself for the career field I want to pursue, but reading an article like this really brighten things up a whole lot more! I've already began to do something like this for internships, and this is a big confidence booster for me ^_^

In this market, you should have started looking for a job right after midterms.
