Where to Find Obama’s Stimulus Plan Jobs

Where to Find Obama’s Stimulus Plan Jobs

Compiled from Monster.com

July 01, 2009

Just graduated college and can’t find a job? You’re not alone.

You’ve probably heard about all the money President Obama has dumped into the economy, but chances are you haven’t seen it first hand. So, where are all the jobs?

President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (aka the Stimulus Plan) is expected to save or create 3.5 million jobs over the next two years.

The plan also includes provisions to help both employed and unemployed Americans: 95 percent of workers and their families will receive the Making Work Pay tax cut of up to $1,000, and millions of unemployed workers will receive an additional $100 in unemployment benefits per month. The plan also includes funding to help unemployed workers pay for COBRA health care coverage.

While the stimulus is designed to create jobs across the economy, four strategic sectors are receiving the majority of stimulus funding targeted for job creation. This is where the jobs are!

Find out what sectors are getting the jobs >>

None of the promised jobs have materialized; as a matter of fact, even fewer employers are currently hiring. The federal government did hire census takers, but they will be unemployed again come June 1 so those workers are best categorized as "temps." Don't think I'll hold my breath in hopes of landing a position anytime too soon. There are certainly no jobs in GA, let alone in many other states where (as in Nevada unemployment is now at 13%) unemployment rates are high. Perhaps if the big corporations would return those out-sourced jobs to foreign countries to the the US, we just might have a chance.

If you have private loans from Sallie Mae please take heed and look during the six months to transfer it out of this company. They currently use a 9% interest rate. Other companies in the same market are using 4.5.

There are ways with Student loans that you can file paperwork for expemption of increased fees and a indeigent form to push back when payments need to begin. I have looked at this and know a few who had done these processes sucessfully. the loans were the federal subsidaied and Fed unsubsidisied loans. I don't know if any other ones give those options.

Some of you are joking. Its not only Bush but Obama is taxing us to death. At least Bush kept us safe. Go to congress.gov and read the bills before you state. You will find the bills to read for yourself. Off the top of my head look at HR 25. A federal SALES tax of 23% to start. and we know how fast taxes go up and spread to other items taxable. Use your heads before you post, Obama is bankrupting this country on purpose. Read!

Stimulus Jobs??? A bridge on 36th Ave, that connects the east and west campuses of microsoft. Union.
The all new Alaska Way Tunnel project in downtown seattle. Union.
Most road construction Jobs or city infrasteructure jobs.... Union.
Columbia River damn retrofit. High security Clearance and Union.

Point being... you have to play politics to get a stimulus Job. Open to Veterans First then the general public.
Education is only a fraction of your worthiness, skills and abilities make up another portion, Being in the right place at theright time is the rest of the portion. Imigrants from other countries will fill in the spaces others dont want. I have een playing this game for a long time. Your best bet is to take your education and start up a business plan of your own.

I really need a scholarship. Tuition doesn't need to go up 7% more next year or there will be too many students unable to afford it - we can barely afford it now.

It really makes me angry when I see politicians urging college students to stay in school, because if they projected that same energy into passing a bill to stop rising tuition, many people would stay in college.

I would like to know where to find Obama's Stimulus Plan Jobs. I live in West Point, MS and to find a job you have to have a car or transportation, which at the moment I don't have. The way I look at it, something is better than nothing these days.
